Privacy
Effective 2026-06-10. The deli keeps a short ledger and this page is it. Plain language, no fine print; the obligations below are real even where the headers joke.
What we collect
- If you subscribe or use the contact form: your email address, plus whatever you typed into the optional name, topic, and message fields. Alongside it we store which page the form was on, the referring page, your browser's user-agent string, a coarse country code supplied by Cloudflare, and a timestamp. One row per submission, stored in our Cloudflare D1 database. It is used only to send you the dispatch you asked for or to reply to your message.
- If you sign the Meat Wide Web guestbook: your entry is displayed only in your own browser (it lives in your localStorage — other visitors never see it). We do keep a private log of guestbook activity — the name and note you typed, the page, referrer, user-agent, coarse country, and a timestamp — so we know the room still has a pulse. It is never published.
- Anonymous traffic counts: Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless — no cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking. We see aggregate page counts, not you.
What we don't do
No ads. No sale or sharing of data. No third-party trackers. No cookies that require consent — which is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to. The most invasive thing on this site is the bacon.
Local storage (yours, not ours)
Theme and audio preferences — the day/night shift (baloney:shift), Broodwich mode, deli ambience (baloney:sfx), your reading position, saved Storybook presets, and a visit counter — live in your browser's localStorage. They are never sent to us. Clear your browser storage and the deli forgets you ever came in.
Where data lives
Everything runs on Cloudflare (Pages, Workers, and D1). There is no other infrastructure.

Changes
This page is kept in the site's public git repository, so its full history is auditable. If practices change, this page changes first.
